For some reason south central Texas became "eclipse central" in 2023 and we'll be in the news again in April of 2024 because of the Total Eclipse that will be passing through then.  Now, the Annular Eclipse we had in October is not quite as exciting as the Total.  But I will say, it was VERY convenient to watch the eclipse from your backyard.  In 2012 Sam and I drove to central Utah to see an annular eclipse and in 2017 I drove 1200 miles to see a Total in lovely Glendo Wyoming.  Taking pictures from the comfort of home was a treat and although we will see a *bit* of the total here at the Helgren Hacienda in San Antonio, I'll be driving a hundred miles west to maximize our time of totality...that is, whether permitting
